Saudi Arabia: Five new products will be added to the SABER mandatory list from August
A few days ago, Saudi Arabia Standards Organization (SASO) announced a new announcement on the latest plans to increase the number of products under the five technical directives that require mandatory application of the relevant certificates through the SABER system.

SABER certification system address (for importers or agency certification bodies only): https://saber.sa/
From August 1, 2019, the following five categories of products must use the SABER system to submit applications and obtain relevant certificates:
1. Technical regulation for electrical self balancing boards (scooters).
2. Technical regulation for front, rear and side barriers for trucks and trailers.
3. Technical regulation for degradable plastic products.
4. Technical regulation for electrical batteries.
5. Technical regulation for paints (dyes) and varnishes.
What is SABER certification?
1. SABER certification refers to the conformity certification evaluation plan for non-Saudi local enterprises (ie, enterprises exporting to Saudi Arabia). Therefore, for Chinese export companies, it is necessary to pay attention to the SABER certification program.
2. SABER is a new upgraded version based on the original SASO certification and a new certification accreditation program that will replace SASO certification.
I believe that for the traders who have recently exported to Saudi Arabia, the word "SABER" is no longer strange. After SASO announced the opening of the The Saudi Products Safety Program (SALEEM), the implementation of new product technology regulations and new programs is constantly being updated and improved.
Finally, please remind everyone, please contact the Saudi local importers and testing and certification agencies as soon as possible to complete the SABER certification of the new five categories of products to avoid obstruction when exporting goods.
